Livingston Manor Central School Basketball Reunion - July 18, 2008

Livingston Manor 1962 - The Manor Varsity basketball team breaks the New York State record for wins in a row with 42 straight league wins without a loss over a 3 season period from 1959 to 1962.

There will be a reunion dinner in Livingston Manor, NY for members of the Varsity Basketball Team that set the State record in 1959 - 1962 and the Cheerleaders who supported them. Si Pesavento, the coach of the year for two of the years, will be honored and will attend the dinner.

The reunion will be at King's Catering in Livingston Manor on Friday July 18, 2008 with cocktails, dinner and entertainment starting at 6 PM. Dinner Details <click link for info>

 Saturday will be golf with Si (he still plays) and yet to be determined activities for non-golfers. We are working on a tour of the school.

Saturday evening July 19th is the class reunion for 1963, 1958, 1953 and all the other multiples of 5 years as well as the "old-timers" of 50+ years. We will be able to attend if there is room.

The basketball Reunion can be attended by anyone with an interest in the basketball team in the 50's and 60's. If interested in going contact any of the committee members.

We are sorry to inform that Norman Schultz the JV coach passed away last week.

Roscoe December 19, 1961 - The Streak Ends!!!!!!!!!

 

Though the Livingston Manor Central School basketball team had lost its first game in three years, the 1961-62 team still were the Western Sullivan League champions for that year, which was also the third consecutive league championship season for a Wildcat team. Trophies for this accomplishment were handed out to the team members during the 1962 Varsity Club banquet, as reported in the school's newspaper, The Centralian.
